On Thursday Zambia will be playing against Tanzania in the openinig of 2913 Cecafa Cup in group B on the
ground of Machakos in Kenya. The Zambia team is under a new coach, Patrice Beaumelle, a French man who replaced his former boss Herve Renard on October. Patrice is looking forward for good performance since he has not enjoyed a good start since his appointment. He has lost all his last three matches which are friendlies away against Brazil, Jordan and Egypt.
Being under so much pressure from the countries football fans, Beaumelle insisted that this game is not a new assessment for him but it is just a continuity making reference to Zambia which will be facing Tanzania with a record of for consecutive defeats.
Zambia's last win was on August 3 when they beat Botswana 2-0 in a 2014 CHAN qualifier in Ndola before drawing with Senegal and Zimbabwe. Beaumelle chooce twelve players from Zambia's Cosafa Cup winning team in July which they won against Zimbabwe notably Kondwani Mtonga a midfielder, Bronson Chama a defender and Alex Ngonga and Bornwell Mwape who are midfielders. The twelve players are expexted to raise the morale of Zambia's players on the Cecafa Cup. Beaumelle also included in the squad th Green Buffaloes midfielder Felix Katongo who is a well skilled and experienced player. Ronald Kampamba of Nkana who was snatched from Cosafa Cup who is the top scorer with an aggregate of 18 goals.
Tanzania will be courageous with the Thursday battle with a superb record were they defeated Zambia with a 1-0 in a friendly match on December in the Dar es Salaam national stadium.
