Arsenal boast of making big signings this summer

Ivan Gazidis, Arsenal's chief executive says that the club have the financial firepower to sign a Wayne Rooney's stature player. He insisited that the club are willing to patch up the club's structure this coming summer.
Arsenal said to reporters earlier this week that the clubs manager, Arsene Wenger was lining up an audacious bit to sign Manchester United's key player Wayne Rooney .Gazidis has fueled the hopes of Arsenal supporters that the club is going to deliver its promises to Wenger and enter a financial big league in bidding with European and Premier top teams over top talents the king of Wayne Rooney.

Arsenal fans are not sure if their club would consider a sanctioning bid for Rooney if it involves a 25 million euro fee and a 200,000 euro per week wages.
“Of course we could do that, we could do more than that,” Gazidis emphasized to the reporters. “We have a certain amount which we’ve held in reserve. We also have new revenue streams coming on board and all of these things mean we can do things which would excite you.". He however insisted that they do not think of making signings that will excite the fans for a couple of weeks rather than signing players that would excite them for many seasons and assist them in winning trophies.

Gazidis said that Arsene Wenger wants to get the right players, the ones he believes in and not what the fans necessarily want. Arsene Wenger is a principled man who is disciplined in his believes and how he wants to structure the team. Gazidis believes that Arsenal team is going to get better over the years because Arsenal has got the club's financial support.

"I think we deserve a little more credit than we’ve been given. Having said that, we’ve got more financial capability now and I’m sure that will help us to be able to secure the targets that Arsene wants." Gazidis went on boasting saying “My own view is we are moving into a new phase where if we make our decisions well, if we get the right chemistry, and if we do a variety of other things as well, not just the new players that come in but the right kind of things on the football side, that we can compete with any club in the world,” he added.
